Description :  Light to dark reddish-brown in color with a straight, sometimes wavy or interlocked grain and a very fine texture.  Brazilian Redwood is one of the hardest flooring and decking products available, with a Janka Hardness of 3190.  Principally used as flooring, decking, furniture, shingles, cabinetry and musical instruments.

Workability :  Moderately easy to machine.  Pre-boring is suggested, as is true with most Brazilian Hardwoods, but holds nails well once in place.  Sands well and polishes to a nice, smooth surface, nail-down recommended. 

Durability :  Highly resistant to termites/insects, fungi, rot/decay, fire and moisture absorption.
