Description: Brazilian Chestnut ranges in color from suede to chocolate brown. Usually color sorted into Light (Brazilian Teak) and Dark (Brazilian Chestnut). It has a grain pattern and texture similar to that of Red Oak, only finer.
Janka Hardness : 3540
Workability : Moderately difficult for some machines and saws because of the high density.
Durability : Almost as dense as Ipe, Brazilian Chestnut is perfect for high traffic or commercial areas because of the resistance to dents, scratches, and marring. Also highly resistant to fungi, rot/decay, insects, warping, bending and twisting, and fire.
